Life isn't measured in minutes, but in moments!

I think I've discovered the secret of life - you just hang around until you get used to it. ~Charles Schulz

bertdey gel

Yesterday was my sister’s birthday. We had dinner and had a chance to talk about life. Senti ito! LOL. Nah, nothing much serious though. It’s just that we were able to comprehend that when we were little; birthday is something we always anticipate long before this day would come. There’s a feeling of excitement and enthusiasm looking forward to our own special days. As a child that’s very acceptable, perhaps our parents would finally give the gifts or toys we constantly reiterate to them and sooo wanting to have. As a grade schooler, maybe because of the parlor games or clowns hired by the loving parents to give fun and smiles to the children at the party. As teen-agers almost certainly our crushes would attend the party and somehow bring a little more glow and thrill to the fun.

Yeah, it’s always been fun to be a kid. Where the world is not so demanding and complicated, and little things could give so much happiness to the heart.

As we grow older, birthday becomes something we don’t want to be remembered by our friends. Most often than not, it’s because of the reality that another year will add up to our age, and we need to face the fact that, hey we’re not getting any younger anymore. Lines on our forehead will become more visible, discernment to the future happen to bring a sting of realization that life is not that easy and simple AT ALL.

Then again, I wonder. Is this really the truth or just the perception driven by the distasteful side of life? Don’t get me wrong. Life is beautiful. But whether we like it or not, there’s side of it that is obnoxious and unbearable at times.

Hay gulo, basta ang gusto ko lang sabihin, we should consider birthdays like how we regard it when we were still young. Carefree and naïve but with so much delight and enjoyment. We may not understand it so much then, but as I want to appreciate it now, life is so good and that those birthdays are a constant reminder that we were given an opportunity to live the life how we want it to be, in which not everyone had/have the chance.

Haberday Det! Tanda mo na. (nyahahaha)
